At HARVAL, we fully appreciate the enormous automobile awareness challenge for young executives with their first company cars. The average Nigerian young executive is mostly ignorant of the basic workings of the modern automobile. We have 2 automobile awareness courses to take care of this target category:

  • Basic Automobile Awareness Course (BAAC) – this course contains various modules including: The Automobile, 1st Tier articulation, various brands, Maintenance Tips, Tyres, Highway safety, Peripheral observance, etc.
  • Intermediate Automobile Awareness Course (IAAC) – this course contains various modules including: 2nd Tier Articulation, Preliminary troubleshooting, Auto Garage, Driver / Mechanic interface, Maintenance, Electrical systems, Cooling systems, Safety, etc.

At HARVAL, we the relevant experience to provide robust Fleet Management Services required by small and large corporate bodies operating in Nigeria.

  • Vehicular Fleet Monitoring – We provide passive, delayed vehicle tracking and fleet management services for organizations not requiring real-time, on-line tracking for their vehicular fleets.
  • Vehicle Tracking – We provide full vehicle tracking with taxi dispatch and duplex communication with driver. Our preferred technology incorporates satellite GPS, GSM SIM cards, SMS and GPRS technologies. This service is provided under a seamless provisioning platform facilitated by our strategic alliance partnership with a leading security systems company in Nigeria.

An appreciable number of corporate drivers have at best a lackadaisical approach to vehicles entrusted to them. These vehicles are usually driven roughly and carelessly; and not properly and timely serviced / maintained. We have conducted extensive research and have discovered the following:

FACTOR
EXPLANATION
% WEIGHT
Bad Driver Habits   This is a major Nigerian problem. Driver attitude is the highest cost centre in vehicle maintenance. Even a brand new 4X4 that is poorly driven will post relatively abnormal maintenance costs.
37
Fraudulent Practices   This is mostly expressed in bogus repair requisitions and inflated repair costs. This is usually syndicated between driver, transport supervisor, and mechanic / garage carrying out repairs.
33
Poor Maintenance   A good number of companies resort to semi – road side mechanics when the vehicles are out of warranty, thinking this is a wise, cost saving solution. This is a big and costly mistake as a poorly maintained vehicle will deteriorate fairly rapidly.
20
Inappropriate Vehicle   Establishments hardly seek professional advice before purchase of company vehicles. This advice will marry vehicular duties and owner expectations with competences and strengths of actual vehicles bought.

At HARVAL, our solutions methodology involves an innovative monitoring and certification process, which guarantees cost efficient driver deployment and monitoring, thereby freeing valuable client resource for core business activities.

On behalf of our clients, we also conduct garage accreditation services / audits encompassing

  • Skill Level (Qualification, Relevant Experience)

  • Appraisal of workshop procedures and practices

  • Safety Audit (Procurement Practices, Reporting, Inventory Management Systems, Contractor / Vendor vetting)

A number of companies do not seek professional advice before embarking on vehicular fleet purchase. It is vital (especially for fleet purchases) to marry the budget spend of the buying company to the vehicle specifications, dimensions and comparative strengths vis-à-vis its expected tasks and duties.

We work in synergy with our clients to facilitate the purchase of the right vehicles for their needs.

Purely at the prerogative of the client, we also source the preferred vehicles, ensuring that they are tropicalised brands and models tweaked by the manufacturers to withstand our weather (extreme heat), our terrain and unique driving habits.
